OEGlobal26 roles: Steering Committee
Sue Tashjian is Academic Innovations Programs Manager at Northern Essex Community College, where she leads NECC’s Open Education and Adopt Open initiatives. A strong advocate for funding to support OER projects that both remove financial barriers for students and improve teaching and learning, Sue serves as Co-PI for the CA-ROTEL (Career and AI Readiness while Remixing Open Textbooks through an Equity Lens) U.S. Department of Education Open Textbook Pilot grant project.
At the state and regional level, Sue co-chairs the statewide Open & Low-Cost Educational Resources Advisory Council and serves on the New England Board of Higher Education’s OER Advisory Board. She was a founding member of the core planning team for the Northeast OER Summit. Nationally, she has served as co-president of the Community College Consortium for Open Educational Resources. Through these roles, she has strengthened collaborative networks and worked to build a sustainable infrastructure for OER adoption in Massachusetts and beyond.
