The Global OER Graduate Network (GO-GN), funded by the Hewlett Foundation, is a network of over 180 doctoral researchers and alumni around the world whose research projects focus on open education. These doctoral researchers are at the core of the network; around them, over two hundred experts, supervisors, mentors and interested parties connect to form a community of practice.

GO-GN aims to:

  • raise the profile of research into open education,
  • offer support for those conducting doctoral research in this area,
  • promote equity, diversity and inclusion in the field of open education research, and
  • develop openness as a process of research.

Our long-standing and close relationship with the conference has ensured that, as interest in open education around the world has increased, our members remain connected to, and engaged with, the latest research, advocacy and policy work.

Recently launched, Sylla is a platform solution designed to enable the large-scale adoption of OER at teaching institutions. Sylla’s platform provides librarians and faculty with personalized OER recommendations tailored to their course syllabi. It provides institutional staff with a tool to analyse and collaborate on any of their courses & reading lists with sufficient OER potential. At the same time, it offers both librarians and individual faculty a way to streamline the discovery and adoption of OER for their course(s) – saving them time in the process.

Learn more here regarding the Sylla case study at Coventry University in the UK, where the partnership enabled savings of 100,000 EUR and increased OER adoptions within the School of Business and Law.
