Tibetha Kemble

Tibetha Kemble (Stonechild) is Plains Cree and a member of the Piapot First Nation located in the traditional territory of Treaty No. 4. 

Tibetha is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Arts & Sciences at NorQuest College.  Tibetha has held a number of senior positions in a wide variety of sectors, most recently as the A/Associate Vice President (2021), Sr. Manager of Indigenous Relations & Supports (2019-2021) within the Learner Experience portfolio at NorQuest College, and the Director of Indigenous Health at the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Alberta. Prior to joining the post-secondary education sector, Tibetha worked for both the federal and provincial public service in Indigenous public policy and program management in the areas of Child Welfare, Education, Indian Moneys and Field Services. Tibetha recently completed her PhD in Education, and holds a Masters degree in Educational Policy, with a specialization in Indigenous Peoples Education from the University of Alberta and a Bachelor’s degree in Management from the University of Lethbridge.  Tibetha has been married to husband Sam since 2005. Together they own a successful management-side labour relations business, and are the proud parents of 14 year old daughter, Natanis and two dogs, Smokey and Bandit.
