Online Conference Format
The online conference program will have webinars, interactive activities, and social activities.
Webinars
Each day has webinars comprised of five presentations (selected from call for proposals) focused on the UNESCO OER Recommendation action area of the day. Webinars can be in any of the six languages of UNESCO – Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian or Spanish. Each webinar has a session chair and a rapporteur.
Rapporteurs will produce reports on webinars from the online conference which will serve as inputs to the In-person Congress. These reports will serve as starting points to discussions from which practical recommendations will be proposed and adopted.
Interactive Activities
Each day has interactive asynchronous activities (selected from call for proposals) focused on the action area of the day. Activities can be in any of the six languages of UNESCO – Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian or Spanish. Activities will be short, have a clear purpose and provide an easy means for participants to actively contribute. Activities will emphasize engaging participants in taking action together through such things as analyzing exemplar case studies, discussion, and collectively co-creating different ways of implementing the UNESCO OER Recommendation.
Social Activities
The online conference will have fun, informal social activities that provide a means for connecting people together, bridging culture, and helping participants get to know each other.
Final Program
Online conference sessions will be invited and selected through a call for proposals. The call for proposals will include an invitation for webinar presentations, webinar chair and rapporteur volunteers, and interactive activities. Proposals will be peer-reviewed. Online conference call for proposals will be open from 12th April through 7th May.
The final program for the online conference will be organized through a collaboration of the global open education community, local organizers, and the Open Education Global conference committee.
