This is a case study of the use of OER-integrated teaching and learning as an agent of social change in a post war context in Northern Sri Lanka. It is based on the reflections of a group of teachers who very recently got the exposure and an opportunity to use, create and share Open Educational Resources (OER) in their teaching and learning process. The study explored the experiences of a sample of 38 student teachers following the Post Graduate Diploma Education (PGDE) Programme at the Jaffna Regional Centre (JRC) of the Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL) in the process of their adoption of OER in teaching and learning. Questionnaire surveys, interviews, classroom observations and self-reflections were used for data collection. Findings revealed that OER integrated teaching-learning has served as a significant agent of change in opening up teachers’ minds to cope with the technological advancements and changing their professional as well as social behaviours in a positive manner. And this case study describes the agency of OER integrated teaching-learning in bringing about social change in a post-traumatic social setting.
