OERs are being produced and contextualized in Pakistan to improve the teaching and learning process for secondary public school students. While the number of OER resources is increasing, a study needs to be done on the quality of OER material being produced. After explaining the context of Pakistan, this presentation will discuss the instructional design of OERs being produced and contextualized for students and teachers of Pakistan. The instructional design will be reviewed keeping in view the principles of Constructivism, Multimedia Principles, Cognitive Load Theory and Cognitive Theory of Multimedia. The instructional design of the OER material before being contextualized will be compared with the re-adapted material to see if the design had been changed in the process of re-adaptation.
