The ROER4D project covers at least three regions in the Global South, namely, South America, Sub-Saharan Africa, and South and South East Asia. However, background information on OER projects, policies and research and information on infrastructural, legal, socio-cultural and/or economic factors that might influence the adoption of OER in post-secondary education in these regions is incomplete. This desktop review undertaken by a selection of researchers in these regions will be synthesised in this session to contribute to the knowledge base of OER activities in these regions and provide initial comparative trends.
